Oh, I have correct pronoun usage, and the multiple death screens also communicate that fact.

Not correcting my child calling the playable character "Metroid" in 'Metroid: Zero Mission' is good parenting.

Me while cooking my child chocolate banana pancakes for breakfast:
"Safe isn't even the half of it."

Four+ years of my professional career is about to become an industry ghost story.
We're two weeks from the Anthem shutdown. If you're a fan playing until the end, one who dropped off, or a developer who worked on the game and want to talk (anonymously) about these final days, the shutdown, or the game broadly for a Kotaku story, hit me up here or at kshepard@kotaku.com! RTs plz.

1 - The Roottrees are Dead

Puzzle/Logic games are near impossible to get right. The balance of nailing the difficulty so players don't get stuck but still feel like they are being clever is razor thin. This game pulls it off and does so with style.

2 - Death of the Reprobate

Renaissance paintings come to life for a nonsense and irreverent point'n'click adventure game. One of the funniest game I've played in a long time.

4 - Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor

Despite constantly being frustrated with numerous design choices for the 'pick one of three' upgrade formula, I just kept coming back to it multiple times to scratch that 'survivor-like' itch.

5 - Spirit Swap: Lofi Beats to Match-3 To

Anytime a game delivers exactly what it says it will it it quickly climbs my ratings. Great character interactions are a nice touch but it's the best Match 3 game of the year.
