I am shooting my shot.

I love writing op-eds.

@teenvogue.com was my main outlet, but if there are any others (especially independently ran) that are looking for a contributing writer on race, gender, and the economy, I'd love to work with you.

Signed,

It’s essential that you find common ground with Trump supporters. For instance, you know that you have many flaws, and they believe you are less than human. Work with that.

Paulina is an old friend, co-author, and indeed, someone needs to republish "Cyberselfish."
1/ A longtime Wired editor just wrote a mush-brained essay about how he totally missed the political rot of Silicon Valley (& still doesn't get it).

But in the late 1990s, a Wired journalist warned of a toxic ideology bubbling up from tech. Paulina Borsook has largely been erased. Let's change that

The threat of having to submit your ID to speak online is chilling, especially as we’re watching ideological capture and capitulation play out across traditional media and institutions. And it’s particularly gutting that sex workers and digital rights activists have been sounding alarms for years

so i'm teaching a course on "hope" and what's being described here is literally despair
there is a strain of very online leftism that i will call left-anarcho-pessimism or something along those lines, which is not only opposed to the idea that the state can ever do anything good but also to the idea that anyone can ever do anything good in our fallen world

Long but good read on Martial Law in the US. If you are being fearmongered about the issue, it's complicated and not nearly so linear or universal as those talking about it suggest. And it's not anything the US military is prepared to do by doctrine/geography.

Martial Law in the United States: Its Meaning, Its History, and Why the President Can’t Declare It
The concept has never been well understood. What should be clear, however, is that the president lacks the authority to declare it.

I say this a lot but we are all so lucky this generation of fascists came of age on message boards and not stabbing people to death at close range in a trench while the world detonates endlessly around them
Night of the long knives but literally there’s no plan and everyone is just stabbing each other wildly and the stabbing is quote-poasting
