A higher variety of thing than I normally watch. Most wanted man has got me started reading lecarre, and I'm really enjoying how he does his thing. Very little telling, you need to actually attempt to understand what is happening (difficult for me).

Finished another one. Two more then I'll be free of this endless #goblinweek

Cool little weirdos.
I'll hide some of these around my neighborhood soon. You can buy mini golems from my webshop: lostdollcomics.square.site

I've shared most of the sculptures I made on my clay blog: www.tumblr.com/tiny-golems :)

Greenstuff no longer exists: www.youtube.com/watch?v=S0NO... ... There is still a bunch floating around, but the plant was shut down. Total bummer to lose a medium. A bunch of the oldschool guys have been switching to poly clay.

I do wonder about manufacturing in the us though - like injection molding has gotta be much much cheaper than the dropshippers are selling them for. even the aluminum ones seem like they'd be cheaper than running printers. Much more upfront cost obviously, and better to use what we have.
I think people often wonder this, and it's a great question, so let me explain the advantages of 3D printing whistles. There are many.

The 3D printing effort started from one of our organizers who started by sourcing mass-produced whistles.
I mean, are they really cheaper or easier to produce than just sourcing the right thing from a mass distributor? it's sweet but doesn't seem Pareto efficient, and I feel like that's important to the revolution

this is excellent research - I intuitively knew that old comics had a super limited palette, but I had no idea it was just 63 colors - and the error increased as color density went up.

Hey want to help the whistle goblins I print with make more whistles? There are approximately eleventy-billion wishlists here with filament begging to be bought and turned into whistles to deploy to across the country. Buy some filament and help the cause: linktr.ee/WhistleWishl...
WhistleWishLists | Linktree
We're the Whistle Avengers. We turn each spool of filament into 400-700 whistles which we send out into the world. Sponsor whistles in your favorite colors!

Watching movies on kanopy is nice because it's missing that feature where you can put the movie in a little screen and ignore it while you doomscroll.

I made huge progress on the metal casting contraption today. tuning still required, because I'm not getting full sets out on every spin, but it feels very very close

#goblinweek progress tonight. I needed to finish that other monster to clear up one of the clamps, so that counts as part of it.
