I think this is very helpful, and I personally prefer to think in terms of - "how do this system's mechanics facilitate a specific way of engaging with it?" because the answer to that question is I think more nuanced and helpful in terms of deciding what you want to do with a system

"Take this game as seriously as it wants you to take it" is kinda my guiding light for this kind of thing. There are settings where the whole point is to be silly and goof with it, but a lot more settings where I think you'll have a better time meeting it on its own terms
I may be in the minority, but for me, chaos and shenanigans are not the goal at a #ttrpg table. I'm not against humor, but I love serious stories and games with stakes, and players and characters who take the secondary world and situations seriously.

While you can play any game any way you want, it's interesting to look at what the text of a game *says* about sex, both explicitly and implicitly, as a way of figuring out what the baseline is that the players are actually consenting to if they choose to play.

I think this is a super important note, and it should be part of your table conversation, especially since sex tends to be a sensitive topic
This is essentially why I wrote the "character consent is negotiable" post the other day - just like violence can be nonconsensual, if you wanna deal with sex mechanically you should address the possibility that it might not be either-
- every time you choose the coward's path you make the sex less erotic and compelling. sex is grimy and disgusting and thats part of the point
- you cannot meaningfully write rules for sex if youre scared of potential in-character consent violations, ppl must have space to fuck up
