"At the trial of God, we will ask: why did you allow all this?
And the answer will be an echo: why did you allow all this?"

- from Ilya Kaminsky's poem, "A City Like a Guillotine Shivers on Its Way to a Neck"
Sadly, this.
The system failed, & it failed because individuals who swore oaths to uphold the Constitution are absolute cowards.
The third point, too. Cassidy owns this shanda because he & his GOP Senate colleagues, Thom Tillis, Susan Collins, and Lisa Murkowski, were cowards.

Again, <10 people in Washington can end almost all of this today, & yet they are getting total free passes on a daily basis:

Obscene exploitation. And further evidence that retail pricing is completely arbitrary and has nothing to do with the value of goods. Good for New York State. Hope others get on board.
(1/11) If you live in NY, you’ve probably started seeing a new warning: “THIS PRICE WAS SET BY AN ALGORITHM USING YOUR PERSONAL DATA.” This mandatory disclosure went into effect late last year, and it’s the first attempt by a US state to grapple with a new generation of surveillance pricing.

i need to admit something. the more i think about how many of our problems are downstream of a very small number of ppl and organizations hoarding all the wealth and power, the less interested i am in discussions of american democracy that prefer to focus on anything else.

On his birthday, we recognize Frederick Douglass, whose life and work in Rochester helped advance abolition, civil rights, and the enduring fight for justice.

We honor his legacy by continuing the work he challenged us to do.

Meanwhile, China produces 70% of the global EV market and adoption is increasing every year. So this doesn't even make economic sense. Seems like it'll make US less competitive.

The impulse to give to crowdfunding campaigns says a lot about people's generosity, no doubt. But think about the implications. We're upvoting people facing matters of life and death. Sooner or later, tragedy will find us all. There has to be a better way than GoFundMe to protect people from ruin.
If James VanDerBeek was left broke because he couldn't pay the bills during his cancer struggle, imagine the plight of millions of Americans?

Medicare for All or some major, radical overhaul of the system will only gain steam as Republicans and billionaires continue killing us.

I'm also seeing signs of this as a copywriter.
i know at least one person getting copy-writing and editing gigs again after nearly two years of firms trying to use AI to write all their blogs, newsletters and social posts, before finally giving up (or at least hiring people to fix the AI copy)

Here's the thing: Burgum knows better. He's on the record supporting carbon neutrality and CO2 capture. He's performing on Fox News for an audience of one.
Burgum: "CO2 was never a pollutant. When we breathe, we emit CO2. Plants need CO2 to survive and grow. They thrive with more CO2. So the whole endangerment thing opens up an opportunity for the revival of clean, beautiful, American coal."
