I've appreciated Discworld novels I've read. I hadn't read Raising Steam yet, and idk why this book in particular is the most heavily exposition'd Pratchett piece I've encountered. Pure Mary-Sue energy, tension elides, everything goes the way of the self-congratulatory main characters..

Wild remembering now, 2008 was when I first joined D&D Adventurer's League under the old RPGA "living campaign" system. I threw that ID card out back in like 2014 or something when I found it stuck at the back of my desk drawer. 😅

the lesson any normal ppl would take from the epstein files is that some people will excuse anything in order to be proximal to money and power and these guys are like "well I know we're not in the emails but we want to remind people that we'll also do that"
