I am committed to making our community the premier place to start and raise a family. House Republicans have introduced extreme legislation to help overturn marriage equality. Instead of tackling real issues, they're focused on rolling back civil rights—putting families at risk. As supporters of the LGBTQ+ community, House Democrats are committed to fighting against this resolution.

We ABSOLUTELY need to do more to improve the public’s trust of public officials and institutions, but promoting bills that fail to create real transparency while telling Michiganders, “don’t get your hopes up,” about BI-PARTISAN FOIA expansion is political sleight of hand.

Yesterday, I attended the ceremonial signing for “Jordan D’s Law,” which increases protections for kids and vulnerable Michiganders from threats of online sexual extortion. We honor his memory with these bills, ensuring perpetrators of this heinous crime are brought to justice.
