This Wallet-Sized E-Reader Is My Tech 'Upgrade of the Year'
E-readers continue to be my first line of defense in my war against technological distraction, and the super small Xteink X4 may be my greatest weapon yet.

So I have the cover story in next month's TNR.

I interviewed the heads of police groups; immigration defense attorneys, ex-judges and ex-prosecutors; former DOJ and DHS officials, and the former head of Border Patrol.

They're all horrified at what we've seen, and they all fear what's coming.
Trump’s Immigration Nightmare: It Is Happening Here
With astonishing speed, the administration has toppled the most cherished pillars of a free society. And the experts agree: It’s all going to get much, much worse.

Watched An Unmarried Woman (1978) last night. It has aged remarkably well—a clear influence on Sex and the City, tactile '70s NYC vibes, a truly lived-in performance from Jill Clayburgh (who never got the career she deserved; blame Diane Keaton). Can't believe a man wrote it!
A ★★★★½ review of An Unmarried Woman (1978)
What if Sex and the City had an absolutely insane Bill Conti score? (Kelly Bishop is such an Samantha)

The Olivia Nuzzi story and the Bari Weiss at CBS story are the same story, which is that the upper echelons of legacy media are absolutely rife with people who worship power and don't feel burdened by any sense of responsibility to their profession or the public.

Only disappointing part here is that traffic dropped just 11%. Imagine wanting to drive into Manhattan!
Year 1 data on congestion pricing in Manhattan…

* Vehicle traffic: -11%
* Foot traffic: +3.4%
* Storefront vacancy: -0.9%
* Pollution: -22%
* Revenue for mass transit: $548M

So YES this has been a huge success.

…I feel like this should be kind of a huge deal? Am I totally off-base here?
DOJ briefly uploaded this letter from Jeff Epstein to serial child molester Larry Nassar:

"Our president shares our love of young, nubile girls. When a young beauty walked by he loved to 'grab snatch,' whereas we ended up snatching grub in the mess halls of the system."

Just within the past hour, nearly a dozen YouTube accounts have posted the pulled 60 Minutes CECOT story. CBS and Google can keep trying to take them all down, but it's sort of pointless now.

I just want to state for the record that I never found the Coldplay couple video the slightest bit interesting
It was a perfect viral moment, a 5 second video snippet that appeared to tell an entire story. Then the country got way, way, way too invested.
