Brexit the 'stupidest thing any country has ever done'
Billionaire Michael Bloomberg has told an audience in Dublin that Brexit was the single stupidest thing any country has ever done, adding that "it's hard to believe how they did it."

@mattwoosie.bsky.social Hi Matt, I gather The Athletic suggested Textor put in £13m in the Jan 25 Capital Call, from a total I think was £37.5m. Do you know if this was a confirmed amount?

So yes, of course I’m posting this again.
One of the best stand up routines ever & it’s frankly insane that he does it in front of a Glaswegian audience. youtu.be/tHA1ufmLZQY?...

Will Hughes was once the next big thing in English football; a teenage prodigy compared with Iniesta and Wilshere. Now he’s 30, a tough-tackling midfielder and two-time Cup finalist. So I wanted to ask him: did he actually “make it”?

For the first time ever, more Labour voters now have an unfavourable view of Keir Starmer than a favourable one, with the highest numbers of voters now saying they have an unfavourable view of the Labour party than at any point since YouGov first started measuring back in 2017

Possibly the worst political strategy I've ever seen @drrosena.bsky.social

At what point do Labour MPs step in and stop the huge damage they are doing to the party?

"I get it" he said, before going further and faster in totally the wrong direction.
Keir Starmer's net favourability rating has dropped 12pts in a month to -46, his lowest level ever, including a 34pt drop among Labour voters

All Britons: -46 net rating (down 12 from 13-14 Apr)

By 2024 vote
Labour: -5 (down 34)
Lib Dem: -13 (down 12)
Conservative: -76 (up 1)
Reform: -94 (down 5)

They know he's finished.
All electorally successful Prime Ministers have had outriders in the media willing to go out and defend them. Blair had lots, so did Cameron and Johnson too.

Less than a year into his Government and it's a struggle to think of any prominent actively pro-Starmer commentators doing the same

According to local reports, the unit was set up near the Saudi Royal Court.

Well done Labour

Anyone who thought you represented real change now despises you.

Anyone who didn’t, still won’t.

People who weren’t that convinced but hoped for the best are out of patience.

You’ve managed to turn off everyone.

Quite the achievement!

And politically stupid, too. Alienates core vote (& they do have places to go) in pursuit of votes he'll rarely get, & demolishes his core policy agenda of growth, making his re-election more unlikely. Even those (inc. me) willing to cut him a lot of slack feel betrayed. A truly awful day for UK.
