The NBA really needs to quantify elements of the dunk contest for scoring. Movement, agility, distance, force, etc... should get you a set amount of points. Giving a 44 score for a basic bitch style dunk just waters down the whole event.

One of the music highlights of my life that I take pride in is when I randomly got to play along side drummer Ed Shaughnessy (at a jazz camp in the late 90’s). This clip of the Tonight Show Band with They Might Be Giants caught my eye on YouTube. So *technically* I’m only degree removed from TMBG!

one of my strongest beliefs is that we're in our situation right now bc some of the most prominent talking heads (e.g. joe rogan, andrew schulz) are learning about politics in their 40s and 50s, instead of their teens and early 20s, and we have to go along for the ride as they learn basic things

This Cuse coaching staff is ass. 8 turnovers in the first half (!). The kids are super talented, but they can’t run plays, no one’s moving, no good looks, they seem lost on offense, can’t communicate, usually can’t make adjustments. I think they gotta look at shitcanning Autry after this season.

Folds on the Kennedy Center 3 weeks ago: I was sick to my stomach when I quit because I knew they were going to run it into the ground. No one that they were appointing had any experience in arts administration, but that was never the point. The point was to take that, run over it, and move on.

Disney / Marvel has had the ability to make a Sgt. Fury and His Howling Commandos movie starting Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury for a over decade now and they’ve never entertained or approached this idea. This is a huge travesty IMO. Opportunities like this are only here for a fraction of a time.

Lots of good Catherine O’Hara moments for sure like Waiting For Guffman, Schitt’s Creek, and Bettlejuice but an underrated role (and underrated movie) is her as a tipsy, over-possessive mom in Orange County.

Shout out to the Ryobi 40v electric snow shovel. I had reservations, but it’s helped to keep our driveway clear without needing an actual snowblower. I can get the entire space (+patio) done in 15-20 mins which normally takes a lot longer. Caveat is you gotta do it before 5-6” of snow.

One of the (minor) downsides of being a musician / creative-type, is occasionally I’ll write songs in my sleep that will repeat in my head over and over. This time it’s a 5 second instrumental piece featuring a flugelhorn that sounds like it was written by Burt Bacharach 🤷

Finally watched Super Troopers 2 (2018). It’s a pretty good sequel. A good watch for fans. Plot’s a bit thin but there’s a lot of good banter going on. They didn’t forcefully rehash bits from the first movie; just embellished a few. Tastefully done. Movie has a score of 35% on RT which is unfair.

Finally watched Super Troopers 2 (2018). It’s a pretty good sequel. A good watch for fans. Plot’s a bit thin but there’s a lot of good banter going on. They didn’t forcefully rehash bits from the first movie; just embellished a few. Tastefully done. Movie has a score of 35% on RT which is unfair.

Picked up a rack of beef plate short ribs recently. $55 for 6lbs which I didn’t think was bad seeing as how these are an extremely hard cut to find locally. Had to trim ‘em up quite a bit tho. Plan: Dry rub overnight, sous vide in the morning, fridge until the weekend, then onto the smoker. Boo-ya.

It looks like NWS is predicting between 18” and 30” of lake effect snow for Syracuse and the immediate suburbs over the next 48 hrs. And of course I’m right under the band of snow that says 30”. We’ll see how it pans out!

Before they were released, I had this notion in the back of my head that if the DOJ redacted any text from the files, a simple copy and paste of blacked out words would probably work because this administration is so dumb. And sure enough it’s true.
So apparently there are many Epstein files on the DOJ website where you can highlight the redacted text, copy it, and paste it onto another document to read the redactions
