The compassion and care with which you live your life is inspiring.
This is what I told a parent about their brilliant neurodivergent child’s standardized test score:

“Timed standardized tests do not always allow children to shine and show what they know and can do. Your child’s beautiful brain can’t be measured by this simple test, but I see his brilliance.”

Even Conservatives I met this weekend while boothing at a Fall Fair don’t like Doug Ford, and their local Conservative MP even less.

So many things could have been done with that corn had it been allowed to mature instead of just wasting it.
In September 2024, the Region of Waterloo destroyed 160 acres of corn weeks before it was mature. This sign recently seen in Brant County, shares all the possibilities the Region wasted.

Our public schools are some of the least funded in Ontario. Should it be on schools to fundraise to cover this shortfall? I don’t think so.

Should back-to-school require parent fundraising? Ontario schools are woefully underfunded, and families pay the price
Ontario educators in a recent study discuss how underfunding affects day-to-day schooling, and places a burden on families for fees and fundraising.

A healthy country is good for the economy, yet we keep taking away from our healthcare system.
It is not acceptable in 🇨🇦 that we have these, very regular, ER clousures! Prov govts are failing citizens. #cdnpoli #bcpoli
He cut his hand badly when it hit a chainsaw. But when he showed up at the local ER, he found it was closed for the day.
That's the new reality in many rural Canadian hospitals that no longer have 24/7 ER services.
We took a deep dive and analyzed the data.

Friday fact: Maple Leaf Foods didn't leave Waterloo Region because they wanted an industrial mega-site. Regional reps keep saying this, but it's not true.

It only required 50 acres. There wasn’t enough water for their needs.

Thank you for doing the hard thing and for caring about our kids! ❤️
The hardest part about being a teacher isn’t the kids.

It’s knowing all the things we should be providing for kids to meet their needs but can’t due to a lack of time, space, and resources.

It’s watching vulnerable kids slip through the cracks of a broken system.

27 years of partnership.

I was lucky to have such a strong partner who helped while I ran for office. Someone who supported me, kept me fed, looked after everything at home and put up so many signs.

Happy anniversary, Stephen!
