The problem, or a problem, is that tax payers see these stories and assume universities are flush with cash. Yet Uni Canberra is going through a massive restructure. Who suffers most? Early career academics and professional staff. They’re not given a golden parachute. 🪂
Bill Shorten’s salary as new VC at University of Canberra, a middle-sized regional uni, is much more than that of the Prime Minister. These obscene salaries for uni VCs must be pulled down to earth. Our top uni executives must be focussed education, not personal profit. #auspol
