I’ve been trying to do more book illustration type stuff, and was inspired by A Forgery of Fate by Elizabeth Lim - One of my favorite reads this year!. It’s a retelling of Beauty and the Beast set in a fantasy version of China. Also the main character is an artist, so… 😆😍 #bookillustration

There is something so uniquely beautiful and wholesome about the communities that gather at the skating rink. Children and seniors. Teens, parents, couples, ice skaters practicing their form. Nobody is judged for being a new learner, and nobody is begrudged their showboating. Just immaculate vibes.

Finally finished my illustration that was created through @paulscottcanavan.com’s 8 week mentorship “Mastering Imaginative Realism”. Really feel like I pushed myself to the limit and learned a ton! Plus ended up with this final painting 😄

Had to take a short video of the cicadas this evening, they were so loud! I really can’t fathom how anyone could find this annoying - I find it pretty magical. I always think of @nnedi.bsky.social when the cicadas sing. You inspire me to stop and appreciate nature’s magical moments!

Started this one and just… didn’t know how to finish it. I think the main problem is that it’s the kind of illustration that needed more prep work but I jumped straight into rendering with just a loose sketch
