Apprentice fish harvester in Newfoundland and Labrador. I live rurally and post about my day to day life.
In the knitting subreddit it feels more and more like everyone just needs like permission to start knitting things. Do these people even enjoy knitting? Why does it need so much handholding. Just knit it and if you aren’t having fun, stop!

This made me cry. So beautiful
A few days ago, I stood in the graveyard of an 1100 year old church, getting damper and damper in the drizzling rain.

A woman walked into the graveyard, waved, said hello, and, as we had previously arranged, handed me a paper bag full of human bones.

The life of a churchwarden is a strange one...

I did a load of socks in the washer and I don’t have a clothes dryer. It will take an hour to hang all the socks to dry. At least I didn’t have to beat them off a rock in the brook to wash them, I guess.

It’s odd how the province spends big bucks on beautiful tourism ads only for people to post ‘where should I go’ on the Newfoundland subreddit. Like, we’ve got a government department for that very purpose!

Olive huffing dirty cloths. The crustier the better! Look how pink her nose is, she’s so happy in her filth

I’m in a really strong Need to Share Moment so take in all my posts now before my Why Did I Say That Moment takes over later and I delete everything

I wonder if I could make the watches work again. I don’t know anything about them or how they got power. Solar? Battery? Google lense isn’t any good anymore for searching images and it’s pissing me off
Almost all pieces are broken in some way. Nan was really hard on stuff.

I took the decorations off my Christmas tree and took a few photos of it. I wasn’t very christmassy this year, next year will be better. Charlotte will understand Christmas so it will be magical again.

Pretty amazing you can’t even tell I had second degree burns on my hand a couple years ago. No scarring at all, like it didn’t even happen. Boy did that ever smart.

Has anyone played the new update for Animal Crossing yet? Do I just buy this 6.99 thing in the store or does it come free?

Absolutely stunning table cloth I got at the thrift shop. I’ve never seen cross stitch so fine on plain cloth. The back is so tidy. Worth a lot more than the two dollars I paid.

Even though I’ve been here for five years I’ve still not gone through all the stuff. I’m going to look inside these boxes for the first time. Very unlikely to contain anything valuable but maybe I’ll find something pretty

Olive is very sooky about me having been gone all day for two days in a row.

Yes I’ve still got the tree up, I’ve been too interested in my sister and her baby to bother taking it down. They go home tomorrow

What happened to Google Lense? It used to be that I could search a picture and it would give me similar pictures. Now it gives me links to websites and that’s not helpful.

Can’t wait to play with my niece today.

We went shopping with my niece today. She was so patient. I got a pair of maracas to play with her with, but since she can’t put them in her mouth she isn’t that keen on holding them herself. She’s getting her teeth in!

There is a group of Canadian Geese that stay here around Come By Chance all winter. They just flew overhead honking their way toward the river for the night. Usually most of them fly away for winter but this group stays.

I have switched from my One Game (the only game I play all the time for months on end).

Did you ever notice that most of the dill pickles are packed in India? I got a new brand Strub’s, which are delicious, but made in India. I’d like to know more about the pickle supply chain

Where are a centaurs organs? Is the heart in the man part or the horse part? Are there multiple systems of organs? What do they eat? Grass or meat?

Fish, man. What are they even like at all?
WATCH: Halibut are born swimming like Atlantic Cod, with eyes on both sides of their heads. As they grow (by the time they are about six months old), one eye migrates to the right side, and the young halibut begins swimming sideways, with both eyes on the top of its body.

There are so many pet rabbits at the Clarenville SPCA. I love bunnies but I am not good at meeting their needs. They are all six months old and they were born at the shelter. There are seven and they are all different!
