A couple things giving me hope this is a masterstroke by the Dems. (I admit I’m probably wrong).

1) shutdown ending means Adelina Grijalva gets sworn in. And it’s before the crucial vote in TN-7.

2) Dems may know they have the R votes to pass ACA and press Johnson or even vote him out as Speaker.

Fucking cowards. When the history books speak of them, I hope it’s as unkind as possible. So much so their lineage changes their names in shame.

Chris Murphy: "There will be pretty substantial damage to a Dem brand that has been rehabilitated if on the heels of an election in which the people told us to keep fighting, we immediately stop... if we surrender without having gotten anything, I worry it'll be hard to get them back up off the mat"

Nothing says “Democratic politics” like having all the goddamned momentum in the world and pissing it away for nothing.

Wife took me to a hot pot place for my birthday. I’m so lucky to have her, but I’ve never felt dumber than I did trying to figure this place out and how it works. 😅

If Democrats are smart, they really embrace the “big tent” mentality

Not every race needs a moderate. Not every race needs a progressive.

Run the right candidate and back them.

If Dems learn anything from this night it should be this:

PLAY THE FUCKING GAME.

You back a progressive in NYC - always. You back a more moderate in state races where it’s more purple.

Back the right fucking candidate from the get go.

The people saying 'why doesn't the Pope go to Chicago to face ICE' is sort of wild. The Pope going somewhere is a bigger security/crowd control operation than the President of the United States. Time it wrong you give the bad guys cover. He IS giving US clergy permission to go to the mattresses.

As @dicknixon.bsky.social points out - the next Dem president has to knock the motherfucker down. Every bit of it.
Leavitt: At this moment in time, the ballroom is really the president's main priority.

I’m pulling for the Brewers because that dude was an asshole of a teammate.

You have to learn how to hate, right @dicknixon.bsky.social ?
