Or maybe it was because all the various Spidermans were simply *kind* to one another? Also, Hugh Jackman's abs. I can do without Reynolds.
This is correct and one of the reasons why, out of the recent MCU films, Spider-Man: No Way Home and Deadpool & Wolverine blew everything else out of the water. They're movies built solely around how nostalgic you are for movies from 20 years ago.
the comic book movie thing worked bc kids read those stories growing up then became adults and had nostalgia for them. NOW no kids read the comics and the movies just access nostalgia for the EARLIER MOVIES (which kids actually saw)
