This refusal to engage with the substance of what people are saying and whether it's actually true in favor of meta-arguments about free speech, bias, "outsider" status, etc has totally corroded mainstream political analysis into uselessness (at best). If anything it's making people less informed
"Oh so you like it when AOC rails against elites but you don't like it when RFK Jr. rails against elites?" is utterly brain dead and absolutely EVERYWHERE.

AOC is right that inequality is bad and RFK Jr is wrong that vaccines are bad. It's not hypocritical to like one of them and not the other!!!

To the Trumpists, the “enemy within” - those forces of radical leftism and globalist elites – are as acutely dangerous as the invaders from without.

In order to restore this declining nation to former glory, to Make America Great Again, it has as to be “purified” – the enemies have to be purged.

I think there is a lesson here. Just a year ago, Bill Ackman and Mark Zuckerberg were trying to get a slate of their own candidates elected to the Harvard Board of Overseers (which is, I believe, a step below the Corporation Board). It's very good that they lost. www.cnn.com/2024/02/05/b...
