Crossed paths with Pavel Buchnevich this morning. I said nothing because he seemed wary of me. Realized later that I was wearing a Sens hoodie and he probably assumed that I knew puck and I'd recognize him and try to chat. Wish I'd asserted dominance and said 'good luck this year' and kept walking.

nba players are by rule permitted to pick up their dribble and even run down the court while carrying the ball if they loudly sing a song in lieu of dribbling. that no one ever does speaks to how self-conscious even the most well-known and confident among us can be

Once again for the chorus: There are no good Barstool people

If you’re an employee or someone that calls them good friends or mentors, you’re co-signed onto this shit
Barstool Sports CEO Dave Portnoy says he hopes a missile hits Greta Thunberg's boat as she sails towards Gaza with aid:

“I hope they hit a f*cking, like, a missile on her boat. Knock that boat down. Greta or whatever her name is.”

I occasionally think about the fact that even if the league agreed to award the Stanley Cup to a new team every year, it would still potentially take THIRTY-TWO years for your team to win it. And that would be under a 'fair' distribution. So yeah, it's not surprising some teams have never won it
In general, I think if a team gets close or REALLY close a number of years, the easiest answer for their failures is "winning the Stanley Cup is really hard." And if you stick to that as your only analysis then you're doing better than most.

Took me a bit to process how big a deal this report actually is--its thus far the only review to look at the entire body of currently available research. It took two years to conduct, stands at 1,000 pages, and completely contradicts the Cass Review and the common arguments for bans on this care.
Republicans in Utah commissioned an investigation into gender-affirming care for trans youth after banning it in 2023.

They're now rejecting the findings of that investigation which showed access to care reduced suicides and improved "positive mental health and psychosocial functioning outcomes."
Utah lawmakers’ own study found gender-affirming care benefits trans youth. Will they lift the treatment ban?
The Utah Legislature's own newly-released study found that gender-affirming care benefits trans youth. Now, will lawmakers lift the treatment ban?
