Kinda sick of Traditional Windows GUI's as I can't really stack exactly what I want on one screen. So I bought a External HDD and downloaded FreeBSD 14.3.

It scares me that the US is horny for "offensive cyber operations" against China, as if they didn't lay off almost everyone responsible for coordinating cyber defense, decided not to pay the rest, and can't even get their critical infrastructure providers to patch 20 year old vulnerabilities.

Well this is absolutely grimm. Upside is Unis are bureaucratically anal about processes so they will be pushing on making sure the data is treated properly.
The situation with Blackboard - now its owner is bankrupt and it's coming under new private equity ownership and control - is serious enough the UK agency for HE tech is advising all affected universities to seek assurances regarding data security inspiringlearning.jiscinvolve.org/wp/2025/10/s...
