BREAKING NEWS Various sources from the Los Angeles County Bar Association (LACBA) have confirmed and the Los Angeles Times leaked a memo stating that on February 23, 2025, ICE will start their "knock and talk" practices in the greater Los Angeles area. IMPORTANT REMINDERS: 1. These "knock and talk" practices are UNCONSTITUTIONAL (Kidd v. Mayorkas, 2024). 2. Do NOT open the door unless they have a judicial warrant signed by a judge. The name MUST be spelled correctly. 3. If they try to use violent or aggressive tactics and you're a mixed status family, make a plan as to who will respond. 4. If you are documented or an ally and see ICE agents in private areas such as driveways, backyards, the sides of a house, or inside an apartment building, they CANNOT be there without a warrant.
