Who’d a thunk it?
Maybe the professional coaches and scouts DO know more than the punters ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
A welcome 3 points for the #Rovers. New boys Morishita and Gudjohsson impressed and the returning Wharton was imperious at the back. Superb game management at the end.

Lovely foggy walk with Rollo. @mickeyundertone.bsky.social paid tribute to Bryan Ferry’s 80th by opening with Editions of You, playing Street Life midway & closing with, in its entirety, These Foolish Things as we walked the misty stretch back. Perfection. I sang it in a pub years B4 karaoke

50 years ago today, David Bowie scored his first US #1 with ‘Fame’ on the Billboard Hot 100, on 20th September 1975.

‘Fame’ was co-written with John Lennon and Carlos Alomar.

blueyedboy.wordpress.com no play today so possibly the last word on the 2025 cricket season. Improving Accy give the pro a comfort break, lost in Bolton and how I turned down my one shot at first team cricket.

No news from the Vatican as smokin’ Accy banish the Blues at Colne. And Jim’s 19th nervous breakdown.

I seem to have stumbled on an International T20 at Stirling County Cricket Club between Scotland A and Denmark.

Loch Earn at St Filans. The Beatles stayed here en route to a Dundee gig. My soundtrack today Ralph McLean counting down the Van Morrison At 80 top 80 from 60-41. ‘These Are The Days’ & a live ‘Rave On John Donné’ particularly apt in this Caledonian setting

Sad news today that Peter Paetzold who ran the Hamburg Beatles tours has passed aged 75. Peter was a marvellous guide & we discovered we had many musical loves besides the Fabs in common. He said as we parted ‘let’s keep in touch’ which we occasionally did.

Think Blue Eyed Boy only ever got a full page the week after the Worthington Cup Final in 2002. That was the day I met Lesley again after 20 years.

You’ll know ‘Dearg Doom’ too which I remember from celebrating the Genoa shoot out win v Romania with the Irish fans at Italia 90. A band I’ve beverage seen live but always followed despite meeting few people who shared my interest. Great back catalogue & I need to save up for the box sets!
www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/brand... Bit more niche today but Horslips a band I’ve had a lot of time for since being blown away by their 1974 Whistle Test appearance & 1976 not-quite-a-hit-but-got-lots-of-airplay single ‘Warm Sweet Breath of Love’ (Johnny Walker record of the week)
