On Platner and the totenkopf ... Lots of people don't know lots of stuff. I can buy the hypothetical that he got a tattoo he didn't understand. I don't buy that he never googled it. Choosing not to cover it with something else was certainly a choice.

I have a new job where I have to be in an on-call rotation. When I am on-call I am referred to as a DRI, which makes me think of D.R.I. which is a band that a friend was really into in HS. So, now I'm listening to Four of a Kind and am happy about it.

I have a policy against listening to the president say anything out loud. I'll read the stuff but will flee the room if he's making noises. This policy is, I believe, saving my life because if I listened to the stuff I'm reading from yesterday and today I think I would combust.

The sin bin idea is good. Make a tactical foul? Sit down for a bit and watch your team deal with being at a disadvantage.

As someone who finds Ezra Klein's podcast a very helpful resource in contextualizing a lot of today's politics, I find his opinion piece today to be disturbing. It seeks to disconnect Kirk's political views from the world those views would birth. I don't know how you do that.

I'm old enough to remember buying albums and discovering hidden tracks on the CDs. God that was great. It just felt like getting a surprise special thank you from the artist for being a fan and buying the work. I miss that sometimes.

We need a better shorthand for ChatGPT/Claude/Llama/Grok than 'LLM' because the term LLM is going to loop in a bunch of things that we aren't mad about. It refers to a technique, not an end product.
