A thread of my 25 fav films of 2024. At the end, I'll link to my published piece with more titles and some reflections on the year in cinema.
This would be my #2 film of the year right now if it had a 2025 U.S. release date. Pálmason is a master!

IF I HAD LEGS I'D KICK YOU should be an absolute lock for Best Actress and Best Sound Oscar noms (if not, cancel the awards) and a major contender for Picture, Director, Original Screenplay, Film Editing, and Cinematography.

I will not be shocked if he tweets about sending the National Guard to Baktan Cross. That's our reality now.

We're halfway through the year, so we're wondering, what is the best film you've seen in 2025?

Doesn't have to have been released this year, just a film that you saw for the first time in 2025 that you loved.

You watched Charlotte Le Bon on The White Lotus, now watch her feature directorial debut, Falcon Lake, one of the best films in recent years.

I urge everyone to watch Girls Will Be Girls. Great script and directorial debut for Shuchi Talati, impressive acting debut by Preeti Panigrahi, and incredible supporting performance from Kani Kusruti.
The John Cassavetes Award, awarded to the best feature made under $1,000,000, goes to ‘Girls Will Be Girls’ (Juno Films). #SpiritAwards

This situation is beyond fucked. It's an actual constitutional crisis as he prepares to become dictator, and everyone is letting it happen. Every day I feel like I'm on the verge of a breakdown.
