How is this a shock to anyone who's been paying even the most minimal attention to what Trump has been saying and his admin have been doing all year? I posted this in February, for example. Officials who simply chose not to believe it because it's all too difficult might want to rethink their career

Students don’t need to go to university to use generative AI. They need critical thinking and analytical skills, the ability to understand complex ideas, to make connections and informed arguments, to cultivate creative thinking and develop original ideas. And yes it is hard work. The rest is SLOP
Universities are racing to incorporate AI into their curriculum—but there’s a better way to prepare students for the future, Michael Clune argues.
Colleges Are Preparing to Self-Lobotomize
The skills that students will need in an age of automation are precisely those that are eroded by inserting AI into the educational process.

@telegraph.co.uk have generally been excellent on Russia's invasion, but this is a headline that belongs in the 19th century. The US president can't "hand" Ukraine's land to the Russian president, however much he wants to. Trump can only take a position on US recognition, nothing else.
