Here’s my take:
Lander and @council.nyc.gov aren’t removing Mayor Adams because Adams is a good foil for Lander’s bid for NYC mayor. Additionally, just the act of removing Mayor Adams could sway voters away from Lander, as his opponents would say he subverted the will of the people.

There is so much that is out of our immediate control atm - removing Mayor Adams is one thing that we can do to restore some legitimacy to government and limit this admins control. Every New Yorker should call on Governor Hochul to remove Adams.
Adams must be removed. The city cannot sustain being governed for nearly a year by a Mayor who is being coerced by Trump admin in order to escape charges.
This corruption poses a real threat to the people of the city. He should have resigned a while ago, but will not. So it’s time for him to go.
