Short🧵of @theintercept.com's coverage of NSPM-7 and Trump's secret domestic terrorist list.

NSPM-7 conflates constitutionally protected speech with “domestic terrorism” & specifically targets those that espouse anti-Americanism, anti-capitalism, anti-Christianity, and antifascism.
SCOOP: Pam Bondi Admits DOJ Has a Secret Domestic Terrorist List

After the DOJ dodged questions for months, Bondi acknowledged in a House Judiciary Committee hearing that she had a list of targets under NPSM-7.

One thing that's sticking with me is the absolute carelessness the government had about redacting the names of victims (they exposed two survivors whose identities had been sealed for 20 years), juxtaposed against the precision with which they hid the names of alleged perpetrators.

Anyone who had genuine concerns about youth gender medicine would staunchly and wholeheartedly support social transition. Let kids explore their identities to see what works for them!

The fact that this movement opposes even pronouns and haircuts shows that it's just bigotry all the way down.
This draft guidance reproduces Cass insisting that clinicians must be involved in decisions about *social transition* which actually should be none of their damn business

They take the line that this "non-directive" intervention should force things to be "keeping options open and flexible"...

Mary Gay Scanlon: We get it. You don't want to answer the question.

Pam Bondi: You don't get anything regarding public safety. Nothing.

Scanlon: Thank you for the insult. It's clear you didn't come to Congress prepared to answer questions that the American people have every right to have answered.

One thing that's fun is that if you're black and you don't have much experience, it's woke dei if you get the job, and if you're black and you have all the experience in the world, you're an out of touch elite who is not really black and doesn't deserve the job.

I had two great conversations on the pod. First, with my incredible co-host and fellow politics reporter, @akelalacy.bsky.social. And next, with an attorney for Epstein's victims who brought a human touch to this incredibly complex story of victimization and power.
