Some of us always remember BLACKBIRD. Michael Flatley won Best Actor at the Monaco Streaming Film Festival which is a totally real thing and not made up by Flatley’s mates.
BLACKBIRD: I bet most of you didn’t know that Lord of the Dance Michael Flatley wrote, directed and starred in a spy movie. If you ever wondered what CASABLANCA would be like with no plot and Eric Roberts, this is a must see. Flatley wears many hats here. Literal hats, all at the same angle.

1) Drop holds up magnificently on a second watch. The thrills are delivered, it’s visually inventive, and narrative wise, it’s refreshingly uncluttered.
2) We need more of Meghann Fahy.

#ahouseofdynamite is going to frustrate those expecting a Tom Clancy-style thriller, but Kathryn Bigelow continues to prove that she’s at the top of her game with incredible tension and a stark commentary on the military industrial complex.

The Black Phone 2 is a very effective sequel which has the smarts to give Madeleine McGraw a lot to do. Ethan Hawke continues to carve one of the most interesting new bad guys in genre, but Arianna Rivas nearly steals the show with her cowboy hat.
