…and your congress person doesn’t really care because not only do they have money, but even when they’re out of office they still have great healthcare, an actual pension (with real money) and security. That is the real injustice. Where’s that DOGE cut?

It going to have to be this AND Veterans losing benefits for something to start, but real changes won’t happen unless a lot of people in congress lose checks, healthcare and safety.

Honestly we were too stupid to prevent this. This should NOT be a thing - starting in 2015 - but here we are. Not a soul is coming to save us. If no one ever realized it before, they should definitely know now that we are going to have to save ourselves. The better question is how & how fast.

Two legislators introduced an act to end Home Rule last Friday. If you’re unfamiliar, this would take away the rights of people living in DC to have a say in how their city is run by putting its governance in the hands of the feds.

Good Morning Yall, let’s show love to Gloria Richardson, civil rights activist who was a key leader in the Cambridge movement. That movement led to desegregation in all of Maryland in the 60’s. After this Gloria would later move to Harlem and continued to work on civil and economic development.

As a SATC watcher, I’m glad to say I never wanted a black version of the show because I really didn’t see myself in the characters. Small vestiges, yes but ultimately, never. I never aspired to or want to either.
The TV industry has tirelessly tried to replicate the success of Carrie and co. for Black audiences. But is it ultimately what Black women really want to watch?
