DC does not have true representation in congress so it’s up to everyone else to stand up for their right to democracy. They’re banking on the rest of the country not caring what happens to the city.

Two legislators introduced an act to end Home Rule last Friday. If you’re unfamiliar, this would take away the rights of people living in DC to have a say in how their city is run by putting its governance in the hands of the feds.

If anything, I see/have seen a lot of my personal and professional selves in Insecure, Run the World (definitely in Renee 😂), Harlem and Being Mary Jane.
The bar has to stop being SATC for representation (and designer/style obsessions) when we had Black women centered shoes that had/have it.
