Various USians have adapted Come Out Ye Black and Tans for their situation in the past few weeks.

This morning I combined several of those together, added a few tweaks myself, and then tonight performed it on ukulele to bring it back here to Ireland. (1/2)

Happy to report that that the open mic went well, Shove It Up Your Arse in particular continues to be a hit.
Me: Being trans isn't my whole life

Also me: I just wrote a poem about a Freedom of Information request, one of 3 pieces I'll be performing about trans healthcare at an open mic tonight

The eagerness of some people for Ireland to follow the UK in its anti-trans crusade is genuinely worrying.

If the UK jumped off a cliff are we supposed to follow?

Dr. Blåhaj is sad to hear that a venue her housemate frequented is closing down today, and would like to come along to console those affected.

I personally suspect it's more that she's got her eye on the Chocolate Fudge Forest Gateau.

I just did my first public ukulele performance at an open mic, of the first song I've written.

"Sip Bro", as is hopefully obvious, falls under the genre of HRTcore.

No wailing, screaming, or fainting was apparent, nor do I think they noticed the one mistake I made.

In Dublin, on Fenian Street, there's a factory that makes child sex abuse material.

You can pay it money, as a subscription, and that's one of the services it offers. This doesn't happen by mistake or because you've tricked or hacked the system.

It’s a feature.

Incredibly important new study from Cal Horton @fiercemum.bsky.social - the first to look at England's post-Cass child/adolescent gender clinics. Dr Horton found patients and families are being actively harmed, with one young person describing appointments as "the worst thing I’ve ever experienced”.
“The worst thing I’ve ever experienced” – comparing experiences of affirmative and non-affirmative healthcare provision for trans adolescents in the UK
Within trans youth healthcare two fundamentally different models of care persist, with a significant difference between affirmative and non-affirmative healthcare services. To date there has been l...

Today I tried my hand at performing this on voice and tin whistle at an informal folk session.

I think I mostly succeeded.

Cat (who is a Blåhaj) helped.

Jenny Maguire: I bear the scars of a healthcare system that fails trans people
“What is it like when you get erections?” is a question you do not want to hear in a 9am meeting. You would expect at least a little weekend catch-up before getting into all that.
