Winks & Windows by Laurel Holl 5/15! Brinn is one of my favorite romance leads I've read in a while. She's so real and I think we would be great friends.
It was so nice to see Isaac and Brinn's friendship grow naturally. And when the friends became lovers? Chef's kiss. #romancelandia 💙📚

Donald Trump is embarrassing the United States on the world stage. We are a country that stands up to dictators and fights for democracy.

Minnesota stands firmly with our allies in Ukraine.

February Reading Wrap-up!

It was the month of graphic novels. I was in the mood for lighthearted fun. Moreso than usual. I loved so many books this month. You Didn't Hear This From Me, At First Spite, and First Time Caller were probably my favorites.

Getting snacks at the gas station.
10: How come you get more than one?
Me: Because I'm paying. When you get a job and make money you can get more than one snack.
13: But you don't have a job.
Me: I married someone with a job. Work smarter not harder kids.

I'm gonna be a broken record about it. Feeling down? Do something. Feeling helpless? Do something. Feeling scared? Do something.

(Yes, yes, yes, do what you need to not burn out, and to make life worth living / keep culture alive and vibrant.)

Action empowers. It refreshes. It builds community.
All that matters anymore is action.

I've read 7 books this month so far and I keep forgetting to post! First Time Caller (out today!) is delightful and I love it. I want to be Lucie when I grow up and I need a trip to Baltimore stat.

The car in front of me at the stoplight was blasting Champagne Problems so loud I could hear it perfectly through both sealed up vehicles. And I respect that. They're clearly going through it. Hope your day turns around random driver on Cliff Road! 🫶🏻

It’s a little odd that conservatives keep acting surprised that most people don’t like Nazi salutes.

A Bit Much by Lyndsay Rush. I'm not usually a poetry girlie, but this one is funny, clever, honest, hopeful, and relatable. I included a very important poem from the book. Something to guide us for the next four years. And beyond.

My friends and I do puzzle contests sometimes. 🧩 The St Paul Winter Carnival one is our favorite. Competed in the 500 and 1000 piece divisions.

if they want to go back to the 1950s, we’re bringing the cuisine back to the 1950s too. you put me in the kitchen, I will spend 100% of my time in there finding how much horseradish and shrimp I can put in Jello before God personally comes down here to stop me.

I think people are kinda missing the point of what Trump is talking about by dismantling FEMA. His vision is clearly that the federal government helps red states and lets blue states fend for themselves. Trump is not going to screw over red states, but he'll gladly punish blue ones.

This makes a lot of sense.
Y’all tell me if I’m completely off base and wrong about a suspicion I have: I believe at least part of the reason Trump wants to release the government files on JFK and MLK is because he wants to publicly embarrass those men.
