NYC. Retired political flack who went corporate. Will work for crawfish and exotic vacations. Proud fan of the Saints, TSwift, and carbs. Aussie by marriage.
My toddler calls everyone "Babe" like an agent in LA. My favorite thing is when he cheers on his friends, his dad, people exercising, really anyone, with "You've got this, Babe!"

Makes me giggle every time

This is why the internet exists
Folks, I did it. I made the Cooks Illustrated competing pear crisps, and then I made my friends judge them blind.

Wait. My kid has a snack doppelganger? I didn't know that was a thing
My 2yo just informed me that her favorite food is gummy bears wrapped in salami. Then she held eye contact while wrapping a gummy bear in salami and eating it.

We had dumplings for dinner last night. And, I guess we're having dumplings for dinner tonight. I don't make the rules

I feel confident saying if Shonda Rhimes was writing this latest episode of the NYC Mayoral race, we'd all say she'd gone too far and that it wouldn't happen in real life. And, yet....

Asked my 3 year old if he was ready to go in and go to bed. His response? "Mama, let's watch the sunset."

I'm a SUCKER because we totally watched the sunset.

Worth it

Saw a construction worker using sidewalk scaffolding like a jungle gym (puli-ups, hip circles, etc) and was mesmerized because it's 85 and humid in NYC. Then I saw the tripod setup and realized he's an influencer.

Can confirm this is a FAB summer read. As is "Everyone in My Family Has Killed Someone"
Every summer for my job I read books from our leisure section. The first summer I read 101 books in 106 days. Last summer I read 50, finishing the last one in the hospital. We are at it again.

I cried when I got my vaccine while pregnant because I was so thankful for science.

I cried when the vaccine was approved for under 5s so my baby would have some protection from a deadly disease.

I guess we're taking a family trip to Canada in the fall...

Made a bunny cake for Easter. Toddler told me, "It's not beautiful. It's just good."

I've been murdered by my 3 year old, if anyone needs me.

FWIW, I didn't realize we were voting for which Gilded Age policy to implement. I'd have voted for "recuperating at the seaside."

Was that on the ballot? Can we get a recount? I'm sure it would win (along with democracy and due process)

I, too, have a trade deficit with my grocery store
Rand Paul: "The whole [tariffs] debate is so fundamentally backwards & upside down. It's based on a fallacy & the fallacy is this: that somehow in a trade, someone must lose. That somehow when you trade with someone, someone is taking advantage of you... I have a trade deficit with my grocery store"

Dear commentators:
It's not 2003. Gonzaga's a national team, not a mid-major. They're not a Cinderella, despite the absurdly low ranking.
K?
Thanks
