The creators of Yellowjackets claimed to have a 5 Season plan but I wonder if they had any plans beyond S1 because S2 and S3 were terrible. It's sad because I loved S1

A sad realization of the modern era is that basically any movie made before 2000, no matter how shitty it is, looks incredible compared to the most expensive movies that are made today
I KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER (’97) opens with an absolutely NASTY minute+ long helicopter shot along the coast that circles into a medium shot of a guy sitting on a cliff, set to a goth-grunge cover of “Summer Breeze.” WE USED TO MAKE THINGS IN THIS COUNTRY!!!!!!!!

one of the saddest things about video games using generative AI for bulk environmental decals and posters and stuff is they’re such cool opportunities to expand lore and sneak in jokes and leaving a computer to spit out generic malformed gibberish just smacks of not giving a shit

New interview with Rolin Jones for IndieWire, in which he discusses Jacob Anderson’s transformative performance in S1 and S2 of #InterviewWithTheVampire and teases Sam Reid as "a near-Messiah having a nervous breakdown" in an unprecedented S3.

Honestly, if I hadn't played Persona 5 I wouldn't have a clue what was going on in Persona 3, they don't set things up very well and its oddly paced. I assume its intentional but its confusing atm

I wonder if people still defend JKR by saying 'give me one example of her being transphobic'. That used to be the go to phrase but she is fully mask off at this point. What a miserable way to live

Kojima: I was reading Catcher In The Rye and it moved me. I emailed JD Salinger and he agreed to be scanned for DS2.

Reporter: That’s.. How did you

Kojima: all our souls are separated by a “Caul Field.” I think JD’s performances as Ryeman and Catcherman will impress everyone.

In my case the answer is simple, it's boring. I didn't like Rogue One and I slogged through 4 Episodes of Andor before giving up. I just don't care about those characters and no amount of praise from critics will change my mind
I've been trying to figure out why Andor — a prestige series set in the Star Wars universe — hasn't captured casual viewers while similar genre shows like Game of Thrones and Last of Us were able to do so.

Is it Star Wars fatigue? Has the brand become synonymous with mediocre output?
It bums me out to no end that so many people watched the first season of Ashoka, a *shockingly* poorly made series, compared to the Acolyte (not always great but trying to do something interesting) and Andor

People using AI to cheat is one thing but what’s even more alarming is people talking about how they talk to ChatGPT all day, how they use it to write text messages to their friends, how it has usurped their own humanity at a time when we need people to resist tech fascism. That’s the real horror
