Tonight seemed like as a good a night as any to re-establish myself on social media since leaving Twitter last year and getting hacked/disabled from Facebook two weeks ago. Hopefully this a constructive pursuit. Good to see many #caleg friends.

It’s crazy to think about the crimes we’re going to learn about after this regime ends.

We’re already hearing about Watergate level crimes every week. Imagine what will come out after it’s over.

We’re going to need a full accounting of all that’s been done in violation of the constitution.

Hey Ezra Klein, here is the answer you been searching for — this is why the bad things are happening.
We spent a year investigating billionaires for @washingtonpost.com.

We found: the wealthiest 100 Americans gave $1.1 billion to influence the 2024 elections — 140x more than they did in 2000. And almost all of that giving boosted Republicans.

Today, the House Natural Resources Committee passed the SPEED Act, a “permitting reform” bill that hobbles the National Environmental Policy Act & will make it far easier for DOI to justify these lease sales & kneecap Californians’ ability to seek redress in federal court.
Today the Department of the Interior announced they will hold the six offshore lease sales across off of California. I wrote about Reagan’s Interior Secretary James Watt opening up 80 million acres of offshore waters to oil and gas about a year ago. The last offshore lease in California was 1984.

Today, the California coast we cherish and the delicate ocean ecosystems just beyond it face a renewed threat from offshore drilling. We oppose the Trump Administration’s 5-year oil and gas leasing program and will continue to defend our coastline, wildlife, economy, and health from this threat.

"By any consistent standard, if Summers is unfit to work for each of these institutions [from which he resigned], he is equally unfit to teach at our school. Harvard should not be the only institution in America where Summers remains above reproach."

@harvard.edu should cut all ties now based on Summers’ utterly poor judgment to continue a relationship w Epstein, but also the content of their communication — where Summers details his harassment of a graduate student. If Harvard doesn’t fire him for this, what *would* it take to lose his job?

I’ve now aged out of this but navigating the pestering attention of older men in my field—which varied from manipulative flattery when they were trying to sleep with you to contemptuous retaliation when they realized they couldn’t—was an exhausting and demoralizing tax of my early professional life.
Keep coming back to Summers’ annoyance that this female mentee he’s trying to sleep with “takes her presentation very seriously.” To men like this—to a lot of men—women’s intellectual or professional ambition is an irritating presumption that they condescend to tolerate.
The emails have Summers reporting to Epstein about his attempts to date a Harvard economics student & to hit on her during a seminar she was giving.
