I know the administration thinks they can do what they please, but the Admin Procedure Act is still law. What legal basis could USDA give for this policy at a time when SNAP benefits can’t be used for purchases anyway? Assume that “the cruelty is the point” is by definition “arbitrary & capricious.”
The USDA sent an email to grocery stores telling them they are prohibited from offering special discounts to customers affected by the SNAP funding lapse.
I'm aware of at least 2 stores that had offered struggling customers a discount, then withdrew it after receiving this email

I feel like if Soros was paying for my sign it would have been nicer than it was.
