This is a key step toward the broader vision outlined by FDA: leveraging the tools of product regulation to shift the market away from combustible cigarettes and—for adults who still want to use nicotine—enable access to properly regulated, non-combustible alternatives such as pouches and e-cigs
FDA moves to cut nicotine from cigarettes, in plan first floated under Trump
It will be up to the returning Trump administration to decide whether to finalize the rule.

So infuriating. Tobacco industry meets directly with administration (something most countries prohibit), and administration further delays rule it had promised (in court!) to finalize months ago. Just incredible that this is still happening in 2023.
