In today's lecture I explained to the students that when Barry Goldwater dismissed the Eisenhower administration as a "dime store New Deal," he was just calling it a cheap knockoff.

"I guess today he'd call it the Temu New Deal," I said, which actually got laughs.

I remember briefly reading her autobiography & remembering how much my anger was boiling of what she went through.

Assata lived her life free in Cuba & didn’t fold to the U.S. Empire, now she is our ancestor.

Rest in Power Assata.

I encourage everyone to buy & read her book.

Much of the violent, racist rhetoric from the man arrested for allegedly threatening the life of Zohran Mamdani is almost indistinguishable from what top GOP politicians were saying in the days after Mamdani won the primary. (Also similar to what Girdusky said to me on CNN!)

Toxic masculinity is a global phenomenon, but nowhere is it more virulent than in this hypermodern, connected society. What can other countries learn from this ‘ground zero’ of misogyny?

Folks out here doing and dancing with evil must think the wheels of time and fortune are static or rusted shut, so let me remind them—and the rest of us—of one of my favorite proverbs:

He who shits in the road catches the flies on the way back.

Get ready, the plague is coming!

A grim reminder: these people will never be satisfied. There’s no point at which they will say “we’ve won, let’s enjoy life.” They will always be looking for someone else to punish, to revile, to dehumanize. They’re empty without that.
