I remember briefly reading her autobiography & remembering how much my anger was boiling of what she went through.

Assata lived her life free in Cuba & didn’t fold to the U.S. Empire, now she is our ancestor.

Rest in Power Assata.

I encourage everyone to buy & read her book.

Today I just got my very first briefcase I bought on September 5th on eBay back from restoration. It’s a vintage mahogany gladstone briefcase made by Coach in February 1998. It also goes by the name Briefbag & the original value of this bag was $594.

RIP to Robert Redford.

My introduction to him was The Great Gatsby (1974) and his pink suit will always be captivating to me along with his fashion style.

Fascism and Jim Crow never died, it simply evolved.

His name was Demartravion "Trey" Reed and he was lynched at Delta State University in Cleveland, Mississippi.

This picture will remain relevant.

“But, beyond that, there is also a need to make it part of our national reckoning with the history and traditions of racism in the United States. It is long overdue to end the Court’s undemocratic role in U.S. society.” - Dr. Keeanga Yamahtta Taylor

Welp this is the number of books I had to check out for two of my classes this semester and I still have seven more books to purchase for the classes.

This second year is no joke, but I look forward to reading them.

Since 2019, I have spent time revamping my wardrobe that was outdated. Now, it looks so much better. From acquiring vintage OG-107 trousers to a pair of 3sixteen jeans & a Barbour Beaufort jacket secondhand, I’m very excited about my wardrobe & how far I have come with my style game.

Sorry for the delay, this is 29, my last year being in my 20s.

Today’s outfit is in honor of Black Music Month.

It’s a replica polo made by the Scott Fraser Collection in tribute to Muhammad Ali wore in 1964 while cutting a track with Sam Cooke called “The gang’s all here”.

Before tonight ends, today would have been the late Dr. June Dobbs Butts’ 97th birthday.

She was a pioneer and trailblazing sex therapist who was ahead of her time on Black Sexuality. My dissertation will continuing the work I started at Georgia State by expanding on her legacy.

As a treat for completing my first year of PhD, I bought two new shoes I always wanted.

On my left are the Colchester Rubber Co shoe & they’re known as the world’s first basketball sneaker.

On my right are the Chuck Taylor High Top Chuck 70. I wanted these since I was a child.

Bought the Superfine book from the Met Museum and man it’s huge but it’s beautiful.

Sidenote: my bookshelf is now full to the brim, and this is what it’s like being a History PhD student.
