i was right. the entire concept of hummus sucks. this is what it feels like to win one big hand of blackjack and then end up with 16 or bust every hand for the rest of your life.
got a tub of hummus that was so good it reinvested me in the entire concept of hummus so i ate the whole thing in one sitting & now my stomach feels like malakili the rancor keeper crying and i’m sad because the next 50 tubs will absolutely not be that good again.

i’m gonna end up quoteposting johnny cash lyrics if i keep seeing people out here today spending their precious time on earth defending the institution of the new york times after yesterday.

they’re shitty. they’ve been shitty. they will continue to be shitty. for a lot of reasons.

we are also about to have a reckoning in regards to how normalized it was up until like ten years ago to want to have sex with--and indeed, have sex with--teenage girls. it is hard to describe how normal of a desire that was until very recently.

Note the class dynamics on display in both this and the Epstein story--these were wealthy men preying on girls made all the more vulnerable by their poverty

i don't mean this in terms of hypocrisy, i mean it in literal, linguistic terms: what is this if not censorship by the state

not "what about!"

just this, taken on its own, wherein the government must approve what you teach adults. we literally have a word for it.

Lots of folks captioning aurora photos like "for a few minutes we didn't think about politics"

guess I'm built different, every time I'm out trying to see night sky stuff I frequently think about how much light pollution is entirely preventable with just a tiny bit of regulation

One of the reasons people--myself included--are upset is the lack of transparency from the Times about this entire situation when they've gone on endless crusades against transgender people on flimsy evidence or ideological whim; we can also talk about the Mamdani/Columbia thing or Claudine Gay.
"I'm a rando who prefers to believe that everything is a conspiracy and am happy to tell women that I know better than she does how their literal job works" That a news org makes an editorial decision you wouldn't (or I wouldn't) doesn't mean someone is killing a story on behalf of a powerful person

Anyway: pornographic art and performance is good, people have a right to the vast majority of their kinks, and it is ridiculous that consenting adults are finding those rights strangled by big tech and payment platforms

There has been a noticeable reticence in left and liberal circles to voice full-throated support for pornography, even as it's become increasingly clear what the open end goals of the censorship movement are
In a lot of ways other leftists chose this path folks. They shrugged and didn’t care when Patreon banned a ton of hypnosis and TF creators, or when YouTube started their ASMR crackdown. Now it’s coming for queer porn creators, more and more. Who will stand up?

this was obviously one of the first things we all zoomed to Google as soon as we had a name after the conclave, and I think the most anyone found was a yikes quote from 2012, which was pre-Francis, and I am willing to grant a lot of Catholics the grace that Francis sincerely changed their minds

one of the complex legacies of Pope Francis is that he publicly said a lot of very ugly things about ‘gender ideology’, but had personal friendships with a lot of Catholic trans women who felt really supported by him. Leo welcoming them publicly feels like a promising sign. I am EYEING HIM CLOSELY

Yeah so.

My food stamps are discontinued, and my car has died.

I just wanna eat and provide for Ichiban, so if you can help out I would appreciate it. I also have a lot of overdue bills that have piled up as well—everything is just a lot right now and I could use some assistance.
