For the first time in my career, I can’t tell people to trust what the CDC website says. And that is an incredibly sad and devastating place for this country to be.
CDC has overhauled its website to assert that “the claim ‘vaccines do not cause autism’ is not an evidence-based claim”

Reminder that, unless a creative freelancer has a spouse with a day job that offers health insurance, they likely have an ACA plan. And with the hits to creative industries the past few years, I'm guessing many qualify for subsidies.

Related reminder that comic creators are freelancers.
The average SNAP benefit per month is $177 a person.

The average ACA benefit per month is up to $550 a person.

People want us to hold the line for a reason. This is not a matter of appealing to a base. It’s about people’s lives.

And working people want leaders whose word means something to them.

Let's all pretend that if Donald gives us all $2000 a month to pay for insurance, that he's the best-est, most wonderful-est little king in all the lands, and then whether or not the Dems have given up, it won't matter. And then we can still neuter him in 2028 when 2/3rds of the House goes Blue.

I know many of us are pissed off about Democrats caving on the shutdown right now, but don't stop keeping in mind who's holding us hostage in the first place. Fucking Republicans are so busy chasing phantom "illegals" and "criminals," they're perfectly fine letting the rest of our healthcare suffer.

That's a death sentence for millions of Americans but also to the entire republic and economy: Health care is a for-profit business generating TREMENDOUS economic activity & will grind to a halt.

And if you’re a California who will be forced to forego healthcare because of the increased cost, the state will be sure to vaporize you with a “you shoulda gone broke paying for health care, shithead!” tax in 2027.
