one thing i’m stuck on is this idea that “masculine” energy means license to act like a chud in public, as opposed to more traditional notions of public masculinity, such as those that put a premium on the performance of integrity, honesty, honor and generosity.

The loss this week of 20 people from the TVO newsroom is terrible news for people in Ontario. Their work is invaluable.
I'm very glad that John remains - he's truly peerless on covering a number of critical issues - but I can't help but feel devastated for what we've all lost this week.

A bunch of people have asked privately so I should probably be public about it. I still work at TVO. This week has been awful and there's a hard limit to how much I want to say. There will, nevertheless, be a podcast and a column from me tomorrow.
