Personally, I think the idea that all women are measured by standards substantially higher than equivalent me is actually a sort of fact-based assessment.
Personally, I think the idea that all women should be measured by the failures of Hillary Clinton and Kamala Harris is actually a sort of sexist doomerism.

”Time to go back to being nice and doing crime."

Internet explainer filter: Because this is the Internet, I'm writing fiction so want to make sure you all understand I meant I'm going back to writing and not committing actual crimes. So keep your job offer in the Trump administration away.

For me, Foucault's Pendulum by Umberto Eco. I didn't realize you could pack so many ideas into a story and still make it move instead of having it crumble under the weight of its content.

Here's an idea: if you're a billionaire, you should have to carry a billionaire license.

"You're next."
"What a lucky man."

Be feral.
Be chaotic.
Be weird.
Be unpredictable.

The AI algorithms don't know what to do with any of that.

Self-publishing is either masochism or the search for praise kink. On most days, I'm unclear as to which it is.

"Heart Mountain: The story of an American Concentration Camp" by Douglas Nelson (I just finished it) covered the little know history of a #JapaneseInternment camp and draft resistance during #WW2. Didn't know anything about that and was blown away.

Genuine question: how does an indie author get their book into a Barnes & Noble?

I've had luck with indie bookstores but no luck getting it on the shelves in @barnesandnoble.com

I want to popularize a new term:

TBW or To Be Written - an idea for a story an author has but can't commit to because they are busy on another manuscript.

Equivalent to the TBR for readers

The hard thing as a writer is that I have all those story ideas but must focus on a single book at a time to get stuff in shape.

People ask me why I post links to my site instead of Amazon when it comes to my book. It's because I would prefer people support indie bookstores. Indie bookstores support indie authors and a book bought from them keeps them in business. It doesn't make that big a difference to Amazon.

If you're out of money to buy books, go to the library.

There, you will find free books, and access to the internet, which you can use to find a higher paying job, which will give you more money to buy books.

@itsafronomics.bsky.social is a talented writer. Any outlet would be lucky to have her.
I am shooting my shot.

I love writing op-eds.

@teenvogue.com was my main outlet, but if there are any others (especially independently ran) that are looking for a contributing writer on race, gender, and the economy, I'd love to work with you.
