Please don’t think this beltway game of having retiring Dem senators vote yes while everyone else votes no is going to shield leadership from the end result. We see what is happening and can’t be fooled by those games.

Ro Khanna should be speaker of the house.

Chris Murphy should be minority leader in the Senate.

Schumer and Jeffries should be gone.

Gee. What a coincidence. None of the 8 who caved are up for re-election soon.

If you don’t see Dem leadership (Schumer et al) behind this very convenient vote you are blind.

Fire Schumer. Replace him with Chris Murphy or Adam Schiff (or anyone with a spine).
CCM -- Not up until 2028
Hassan -- Not up until 2028
Shaheen -- Not running again
Kaine -- Not up until 2030
King -- Not up until 2030
Fetterman - Not up until 2028
Durbin - retiring
Rosen - Not up until 2030

Absolutely correct
American politics makes a lot more sense when you realize that the GOP is afraid of pissing off the GOP base, and the Dems are afraid of pissing off the GOP base, but neither party is afraid of pissing off the Dem base.

How about we shut down the government for this very popular and specific goal and then, hear me out, we hold out for like a month and a half and then, ok this part is important, after a watershed election where we ran the table, ONLY THEN, fold and don't get the one thing we said we wanted.

80% of Democratic voters want a new leader in the Senate.

Does that matter at all to Democratic senators?

Vote out Schumer, Gillibrand, and every Establishment Corporate funded Democrat. They've failed us repeatedly and have no idea how to lead. The Democratic Party will either die or transform into new leadership. It cannot survive in its current state.

This is really good to see: Miki Sherrill just put out a statement sharply criticizing the Senate Dems' pending cave in the government shutdown, ripping it as "malpractice" and a betrayal of the people who are "counting on us to fight for them." Sherrill knows what drove her victory. Wake up, Dems.

Sanders: Let’s be clear… If this vote succeeds, over 20 million Americans are going to see at least a doubling in their premiums… if resolution is passed tonight, we are on a path way to throw 15 million Americans off of medicaid and the affordable care act, 15 million.

The average SNAP benefit per month is $177 a person.

The average ACA benefit per month is up to $550 a person.

People want us to hold the line for a reason. This is not a matter of appealing to a base. It’s about people’s lives.

And working people want leaders whose word means something to them.

Can't wait for Chuck Schumer to say he personally didn't vote to reopen the government after working behind the scenes for 2 months on corporate bribed Democrats and his AIPAC recipients to reopen the government under Trump's terms.
