Indicting journalists runs deeply contrary to our First Amendment tradition. It’s outrageous. But doing it also gives the administration a bit of a smoke screen, and it needed one today. Free speech will be vindicated in the courts, and DOJ knows this.

The Epstein Files: The government released 3 million pages. 3 million more to go. The Trump admin remains in violation of the law, the Epstein Files Transparency Act, which required it to release all of the documents, redacted to protect victims' personal information, last year. They aren’t close.

Democrats are rallying to force DHS Security Secretary Kristi Noem to quit, get fired, or face impeachment. It is easy to cynically dismiss Trump’s personnel shuffling as nothing more than rearranging the deckchairs on the Titanic, but there are very good reasons to go after Noem, especially now.

Last night, we learned that ICE, contrary to longstanding Fourth Amendment jurisprudence, is taking the position that it can enter people’s homes without a judicial warrant. Instead, they believe that an administrative warrant suffices.
