Those of us using the American BCP have been wonderfully spoiled this year with all the Sundays falling on the same date as the “closest to” directions for our collects. ⚓️

Question of curiosity…if you’ve undertaken a capital campaign at your church, especially one more inwardly focused (building renovation, new organ, etc.), have you included an amount designated specifically for an outreach/mission project? Or have you kept it limited to the specific task? ⚓️

For TEC friends milling about in the narthex…what is the best way to contact the Presiding Bishop to invite him to an event? Does the head of the event do it? Does the diocesan bishop where the event is hosted do the inviting? DoorDash him a primante bros sandwich with an envelope for the uto? ⚓️

Yall may remember my run of ppl scheduling funerals before checking dates with me/the church. 3 wks ago, someone emailed they were flying in on a Friday afternoon and out Monday at 7am. Was there a time on Sunday to do the interment? It was over a month warning and just the basic prayers but…yeah… ⚓️

I have spent well over half of my life within 3 miles of a Great Lake and feel a little guilty every time I say it, but I really miss the salt water and could go for some good ocean therapy these days. No water nourishes me better than salt water

One downside to being assistant rector is that sometimes due to schedule quirks, it can be a long time between sermons. This has been one of those times here. Lots has happened and I've been having lots of thoughts and Jesus is really rounding into form. Brevity and sugar may be in short supply. ⚓
