Seattle is a great city, and I’ve appreciated the walking, biking and transit on this trip. But it’s been a while since I’ve been on mixed traffic streetcar, and I still fail to see the value add. I’m sure there are some places where it makes sense, but I always feel like I should have walked.

FWIW, it also clearly missed the school bus's stop sign which would prevented hitting the dummy.
“Tesla’s driverless ‘robotaxis’ could launch in Austin as soon as June 22. But a demo in Austin today showed a $TSLA, manually driven to test its Full Self-Driving system, failed to stop for a child-sized dummy at a school bus—and hit it.”

My fault for not paying closer attention, but I assumed the Women’s NCAA championship would be in the evening like other marquee events. I was looking forward to watching w/our kids. Seems lame and undercuts the NCAA’s supposed interest in promoting women’s sports. Anyway…Congrats Paige and UConn!

Not sure people appreciate how much backbone it took for this librarian, who’s been working for a year as a hardware store cashier, to tell a bunch of small-town busybodies she wasn’t going to remove books about the existence of gay people and the evils of the KKK.

She deserved a whole lot more.
Scoop: Former Texas librarian Suzette Baker will receive $225,000 in a settlement of her wrongful termination lawsuit.

Baker accused Llano County officials of firing her because she refused to remove books with race & LGBT content from a public library. www.statesman.com/story/news/p...
