I like, maybe five people. On a good day.
Updated: There are no good days now.
We should push more Sesame Street on people when it comes to grieving and missing people. Not fucking AI.

I saw this yesterday & as I said on @blacknell.bsky.social repost, of all the shittiest AI "possibilities" this is the shittiest. If you're lucky to have had a loving relationship w/ someone who's died, grieving & missing them many years on, as I do my parents, is what being human is about. JFC.
Nightmarish idea for a startup tbh

Do I have an actual *notebook* with the names of all the movies and shows and miniseries and documentaries I'd like to watch? Yes. Do I then end up rewatching McDonald and Dodds episodes for the 4th or 5th time, or my favorite Poirot and Marple episodes for the nth time? Also and very much so yes.

Fnally updated our home office situation so we are on different floors & opposite ends of the house & rooms with doors so someone doesn't have to hear the other's hyperfixation song of the day for 8 hours straight & someone else gets a reprieve from Hank Williams which is apparently coding music.

For once there is a kernel of truth. It was a shutdown hoax given that the Dems got nothing out of it.
(Also, I canNOT even imagine the rage I'd be experiencing reading this if I was an air traffic controller.)

P.S. Where is Rorschach when you need him to set everything on fire?
(He was the only one of that bunch with heart).

narrator: It was in fact super negotiable
Health care isn’t negotiable.

We need to both reopen the government and work together to protect access to affordable health care by extending the ACA enhanced premium tax credits.

Just thinking again how Democrats asked people to accept short-term suffering in order to give space to prevent long-term, worse suffering and then said, "Thanks for suffering in the short-term. You'll get to suffer long-term too so that our Thanksgiving plans don't get disrupted."
November 10, 2025 at 1:18 PM
I absolutely believe this, too. Contrary to the belief that they couldn't band together to push through the ACA subsidy, they likely mostly banded together to do just the opposite. This kind of political play is something even kids back home know about, it's so prevalent as to be an open secret.
Important to understand this. There's a reasonable chance that your Dem Senator who voted against it and is acting mad now was in on the play. It's the same reason why they scheduled the surrender for AFTER the election this week. They didn't want people pissed at Dems right before an election.
The caucus meeting was just to orchestrate who would fall on the sword but not be up for a vote in 2026.

I think the "good old Democrats" actually got more scared by Tuesday's results than the Republicans b/c they realized that people are now past the "as long as it's any Democrat" way of thinking and they're just as much at risk as the GOP. And they're gonna kiss up now to 'save' their own sorry asses

I feel more like this with every passing year.

We need a party that is committed to preserving, protecting & improving life. We don’t need people intent on endlessly negotiating how much humanity we deserve or if we deserve any at all.

We don’t need a society built around manufactured scarcity.
This pretty much sums up the entire ideological dispute between the two American political parties.

What they are arguing about, on almost all issues, is either methodology or magnitude. That is literally it.

The party of We Will Kill You vs the party of We Will Let You Die.
To be clear, Lindsey Graham, an American senator, has gone on the most popular Sunday morning current events show in the country and suggested that we drop nuclear bombs on Palestinians.

While they may differ in methodology, both parties agree that Palestinians should be eliminated.

To capitulate after putting the affected people through what they did because everyone thought they actually cared about the bigger picture is unconscionable...and so typical.

I think one of the biggest aspects of Mamdani's win isn't just the immigrant &/or Muslim &/or socialist representation. It's that he is the child of a film maker/director a & professor of poli-sci/anthro/African Studies. He's the product of a household that emphasized the arts & cultural studies.

I was looking at the breakdown of votes for Sherrill versus the other guy and once again Black voters almost unanimously carried the vote for her.
Also, white women continue to suck. 49% of us thought being under the thumb of a patriarchy is a grand place to be.
