I love it when the crazy Amazon brands have nice marketing copy like “We here at FSJIXXL are dedicated to quality art supplies”

When I have an issue I want to speak about, you will hear about it. Unless I’m irrelevant by then and nobody cares, in which case maybe you won’t. Also, the issue will probably be ferrets, or ferrets-adjacent.

One day I’m going to take a sabbatical and spend several months perfecting my Werner Herzog accent.

You have to admit it would be kinda funny if they let George make just one ridiculous new change and didn’t tell anyone ahead of time.

Nothing makes me think of Christmas more than asking the kids to gather round the tree and scan the QR code.

The thing about a funhouse is that it’s a house designed specifically for fun. You might struggle to do your chores or prepare food in it, but I’ll be goddamned if you’re going to be bored.

I did something I’ve almost never done and saw a movie in the theater for a second time. One Battle After Another in VistaVision. I was curious how different it would feel vs a normal theater.

One of the fun things about movie theaters, especially in the city, is how all the twists and turns you take on the way make you lose all sense of direction and where you are in the outside world, and the sudden opening up of a giant space in there seems extra magical.

Still thinking about the scene in What Lies Beneath where Michelle Pfeiffer tells her therapist that her house is haunted and he offers her an Atomic Fireball from a bowlful that he keeps next to him.

Ok, I think I have to move back to NYC (at least for Sept.) because this Big & Loud series sounds amaaaazing: films like Lawrence of Arabia, Close Encounters, 2001, Interstellar, Dunkirk, Matrix, Fury Road, etc. in 70mm + Dolby Atmos. Wow! [paristheaternyc.com]
Paris Theater - Big & Loud
The smash series continues for a third year, featuring the New York premiere of the restored, director-approved version of CLOSE ENCOUNTERS OF THE THIRD KIND - on 70mm for the first time!

We need to see a messy bitch in the Criterion closet talking about the movies they would’ve been better in.

I have so much work to do on myself.
By age 33 you should be completely inept, dumb ass , can't open up, falling a lot, tripping on shoelaces, forget to tie shoes, start wearing velcro shoes, trip on other crap, fall and hit face on pavement, blood everywhere, bleeding face

What is this part of the new subway cars for. It looks like it’s supposed to do something cool.

Oh yeah I saw that movie. My favorite part was the film grain.

I like when they put up billboards to argue some minor point of Christian dogma. Feels like a throwback to the 1500s.

It’s great that Zohran beat Andrew Cuomo, but I think he’s still going to have trouble in November defeating Shmandrew Shuomo, a kindly old lady who just shuffled onto the scene to run as a Republican.
