These numbers, when side by side with the party numbers, paint the picture of why Poilievre needs to go as CPC leader. Trafficking in anger and grievance just isn’t a winning strategy in Canada.
Preferred Prime Minister Polling:

Carney: 51% (+1)
Poilievre: 26% (-2)
Blanchet: 6% (-)
Davies: 4% (-)
May: 2% (-)
Bernier: 1% (-)

Unsure: 11%

Lotta folks rightfully upset about DJT’s tweet and I just want to say, he’s a terrible, horrible guy so don’t expect decency. I remind you, that’s not who he is.

Instead, watch a Rob Reiner film.

Better yet, watch ‘em all.

“He should take down this post!” Kinda glosses over 1- the fact that he thinks these things at all is disqualifying; and 2- the fact that it was posted is absolutely insane and in generations past would have been grounds for 25.

That cabinet meeting would make both Putin and Kim Jon Un blush and say “oh, my”.

This isn’t cultist or tribalism. They want better for their children and Republicans come with the lie of smaller government will make your life better. They lack access to appropriate education (because of republicans) and informative news. It’s a systemic problem, not a generational one.

I think this mindset is the largest problem preventing a Dem advance. This isn’t always why (though, I concede for many it is) people vote Republican. Advocates of smaller government work hard every day, take home less and struggle to make ends meet. They see waste and corruption. They want better.

Lower your expectations. While it **should**, It won’t. They’re a cult. But, the midterms are crucial to the survival of the republic. Trump will put his tiny thumb on the scales, Dems (and Indy’s) need to volunteer and turn out to make sure that doesn’t matter.

“As God as my witness, I thought Turkeys could fly” may be one of the single greatest lines in sitcom history.
One of the best moments in sitcom history.. ever.

So Hegseth, Trump et al think it’s a good idea to recall Captain Mark Kelly, Naval officer and astronaut, to active duty, so he can put on a uniform, and defend his (and all Americans) right to free speech, and speaking truth to power? Not sure they thought that through.

These are majority government numbers. If LPC thinks these numbers are legit, that’s explains why they weren’t afraid to go to the polls.
Federal Polling Average In Quebec:

LPC: 40.1%
BQ: 29.4%
CPC: 21.2%
NDP: 5.8%
GPC: 2.2%
PPC: 1.4%

It’s wild where we live in a time that the last two presidents could not outrun their 3 predecessors if they were being chased by predators. (Odd observation, but prescient these days.)

65 years ago, as an adult, blows my mind. I’m 45. That means, a mere 20 years before I was born, this was fine. I’m glad we’ve come this far. But we still have much distance to travel.

Mehdi, I absolutely love your work! I’m thrilled to see this new venture paying off in actually informing the electorate (and some of us outside the US). Congratulations!

I heard some old friends at Pod Save America were in town, so I decided to stop by. As we saw this week, we can change this country for the better. But it’s going to take all of us getting organized and having honest conversations about the best way forward.

Gotta say “giving them (DC/Puerto Rico) full rights as citizens” is an absolutely wild argument. Being against people having equal representation is the antithesis of what the Republic was founded on.
Mike Johnson: "Imagine a scenario where they were in charge and they didn't have the filibuster. We would have nationalized elections, they would infringe on our 2A rights, they'd pack the Supreme Court, and they'd make Puerto Rico and DC states."

It’s wild to me. Some will remember Cheney as a ruthless war monger who sacrificed thousands of American lives and tens of thousands Iraqi lives in service of a questionable ideology. Yet, others will remember Cheney as a loyal American who stood up to a dangerous President at the end. Both are true

We love this country with every fibre of our being.

I know that during this crisis, Canadians will remain united. We will keep Canada Strong.

Calm versus Chaos is a good contrast for Carney. It places Pollievre next to Trump without even having to say either of their names. In times of crisis, people want a steady hand.

At some point Continuing Resolutions seem kinda incompetent, no? You control both the House and the Senate and you can’t pass a budget?

Best of luck Karina. You were not my first choice, but I commend you on everything you’ve brought to this race, and for your service to Canadians.

I personally think it’s important to state where I stand. I personally like Gould, and believe she’ll make a great leader and Prime Minister in the future. But I want a steady hand with experience right now. (I might be wrong here, and I’m up front about that).

My first…whatever:

The Hip once said “I can get behind anything”. I’m a Liberal, & while I criticize the leaders I disagree with, I support them as far as I can. Until you show me you’re not worthy of support, you’ve got it. I’ll support whomever wins our leadership race. But, my top choice: Carney
