Sunday night hot take, but I'm starting to think that, while Ghost of Yotei is the better crafted game overall, I might have enjoyed the moment to moment gameplay of Assassins Creed Shadows more - as a fan of stealth gameplay, AC:S seriously blows GoY out of the water.

The Donkey Kong Bananza run at Awesome Games Done Quick 2026 was an absolute all timer, what a fantastic speed game.
The singing at the end was so much fun too, so many positive vibes, many game circles could learn so much from this community.

A fun little immersive element I've come across in Metroid Prime 4 is that your arm cannon slowly builds up a thin layer of ice while in the Ice Canyon - firing the cannon rapidly will warm it up, and melt the ice.

A few hours in now and I really do think some of the reviews were too harsh on Metroid Prime 4 - the original Metroid Prime remains my favourite game of all time, and while this is definitely a bit more linear, I honestly think it's a pretty worthwhile addition to the series. Great fun.

If I had a nickel for every game I'd played recently with a Switch icon featuring a character reaching out towards me, I’d have two nickels, which isn’t a lot but it’s weird it happened twice.

Currently playing the utterly fantastic Castlevania Aria if Sorrow on Gameboy Advance for the first time - but wow, the Death boss fight is a CRAZY difficulty spike.

I get that they aren't really the same in most any functional way other than you investigating a mystery in a manor, but The Séance of Blake Manor has very likely taken Blue Prince's spot on my end of year list - here's hoping it sticks the landing.

Pokémon Legends Z-A has been so much fun over the last few days, I never clicked with Legends Arceus because it felt so removed from the battling aspect of Pokémon, but Z-A's gameplay loop of battling and catching is really doing it for me.

The Xbox Series S that I bought purely for Game Pass is now a glorified paper weight.
If anything should scare you away from the Netflixisation of game services it should be that eventually you'll quit due to increasing prices or dwindling quality of the service, leaving you with a gameless brick.

I'm really enjoying Borderlands 4 so far, but there are a few bizarre omissions here or there that I can't wrap my head around. Like why wouldn't your total money be on screen when you are asked if you want to purchase a respec? Why can't you flip between missions in game?
